District Club Suspension Policy: District 322H
A Club which has an unpaid balance against the District dues, as billed to each Club (comprising of membership fees and other charges, subscriptions, contributions etc), outstanding past 90 days from the date of Billing, will be automatically suspended including the rights, privileges, and obligation of the Lions Club. In the event, the Club does not pay the outstanding amount as per bill raised by the 28th day of the month following suspension; District Governor has the right to recommend to Lions Clubs International for cancellation of their charter.
Moreover, in case of bills raised for 2nd Semi-annual period, suspension applicable outstanding past 90 days or the date of District Convention, whichever is earlier.
However, considering the new formation of this District 322H, the Suspension Date is limited to 15th December 2022 for current Lionistic year only.
Further, the District dues requires to pay before the District Annual Convention to be eligible to have voting rights during the District Annual Convention.
Suspension is the temporary deferment of the rights, privileges and obligations of a Lions club due to an unpaid balance.
Clubs on suspension shall not:
(a) Conduct service activities
(b) Conduct fund raising activities;
(c) Participate in district and multiple district functions or seminars;
(d) Participate in any voting procedures outside of the club
(e) Endorse or nominate a candidate for district, multiple district and international office;
(f) Submit Monthly Membership Report and report forms;
(g) Sponsor a Lions club, or organize a Leo or a Lioness club.
Clubs on Suspension shall:
(a) Discontinuation of the Cabinet member from the concerned club.
(b) Hold meetings to discuss the future of the club and identify the steps needed to regain an active status.
(c) Make payments to clear the existing outstanding balance, or request a payment plan.
This policy has serious consequences for clubs that are in arrears in paying their club balances. To rectify this past due condition, clubs placed on suspension may regain an active status by paying the balance in full. A re-activation report will not be required to regain an active status; however, District Governor should immediately review and update the membership roster after a Club is released from Suspension.
